Verbetering sanitaire voorzieningen

Here you will find information about the project of André and Jacolien Stam who have been sent out long term.

 

Since 2015 André and Jacolien Stam have been involved in the work of the Christian Refugee Relief (CRR) foundation. They experienced a wonderful growth from a group of friends who impulsively left for Lesvos to a foundation that organizes structural aid transports and sends volunteers to refugee camps on the Greek islands monthly. This was only achieved by a growing circle of people who have a warm heart for this work and who help us again and again.

 

From April 2019 André and Jacolien worked for three months in a row for our partner organization Eurorelief in camp Moria on Lesvos. This has been an educational and wonderful period for them to experience whether this is something we can do for a longer period of time. Working with refugees has captured their hearts and they experienced that this calling has become increasingly important in their lives in recent years. The desire has grown to fully focus on the work in the field.

 

Practical

André and Jacolien left for the Greek islands in May 2020. They now first help out in refugee camp Moria on Lesbos. But the goal is to start up new CRR projects together with our partner Eurorelief on the Greek isle Chios.

 

Because of the pressure on long-term volunteers, André and Jacolien will be on leave in the Netherlands every three months. We learned this is necessary to gain new energy and to be able to continue this (mentally) hard work.

 

Home Front Committee

A home front committee has been set up to support the work of André and Jacolien on Chios. We are grateful that these people are willing to commit themselves to help them!
